| Summary | Windows Server 2008 is Microsoft's replacement for Windows Server 2003 using the new Windows Vista code base. Its main technology changes include improved security and new management features. Two variants of Enterprise include or exclude hypervisor based virtualization (called Hyper-V). Hyper-V will be available in summary 2008. Enterprise Edition expands upon Standard Edition with greater scaliability and availability. It includes enterprise technologies such as fail over clustering and ADFS (Active Directory Federation Services). |
